Lg In Door Ice Maker Freezing Up

My 4 year old refrigerator ice maker constantly freezes up.

The slim spaceplusce ice maker is in the upper left door french door of the fridge. Please note the ice maker was still making and dropping ice but there was clearly water dripping into the bin and freezing up creating a sheet of ice and freezing what ice we had into a big lump. Ice maker making ice as it should. The water dispenser still works but not the ice.

The problem is the ice maker freezes up and the ice cubes do not drop. The ice maker and everything inside the door started to freeze up after someone turned up the water pressure on the water in line. It is a french door model made by whirlpool. I have 2015 3 door lg.

The only way we can get it working again is to turn it off so that it thaws out then turn it back on and it works for a while before freezing again. Finally 3 my husband figured the water was still filling the trays when there was still ice in there. The issue i am having is the water in the ice tray is not freezing. I need help with my refrigerator ice maker.

Ice will now not dispense from the ice bucket when you press on ice switch. The ice does not dispense as the ice holding area forms into a large block. Ice maker is in the door. Lg refrigerators automatically defrosts every 4 16 hours which should resolve most frost buildup issues.

The reset on the ice machine works the water pours out of the tray should be ice and more water fills up the tray. My wife uses it daily. I have an lg french door 3 door bottom freezer refrigerator which once a month freezes up the ice maker. Ice maker and water dispenser troubleshooting refrigerator.

I adjusted the water pressure and all was good.
